Good news: By sitting on the suitcase while yanking on the zipper as hard as possible, I was able to zip it shut.
I pity the poor airport security staff person who decides that it might be a good idea to do a random check on the contents of my suitcase. There’s a lot of force pressing down on those clothes, and I’m not looking forward to seeing what happens when they’re suddenly released.
